Language and Culture

KOBE is committed to promoting Language and Culture in the KO Communities. Our programs celebrate and preserve traditional knowledge, ensuring students maintain a deep connection to their culture while receiving a comprehensive education.

Through language programs students learn and preserve their ancestral languages and strengthen their cultural identity. Cultural immersion programs use traditional practices to fostering pride and belonging.

Our goal is to prepare students to walk in two worlds; honouring their culture while equipping them for the future. This practice ensures that Indigenous traditions and knowledge are passed down for generations.

In the words of an elder from the community, “Our language, culture, and land-based education are the foundations of our identity and our way of life. It is our responsibility to ensure that these traditions are passed down to our children and grandchildren.”
